Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) is a socio-political organization, representing the legal and legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese women across all levels of society. Vietnam Women’s Union promotes women’s affairs, voice, economic empowerment, and the development of women’s groups.

In Bac Kan, the Provincial Women’s Union leads the implementation of the Australian-funded Ethnic Minority Women’s Empowerment (EMWE)  and Women’s Economic Empowerment through Agricultural Value Chain Enhancement (WEAVE) projects, and the EU-funded Voice and Rights for Ethnic Minority Women in Vietnam project.

Previously, VWU was an implementing partner of CARE International in Vietnam in the Integrated Community-based Adaptation in the Mekong Delta (ICAM) project in An Giang and Soc Trang province during 2012-2015.
