annual report 2022

The 2022 Annual Report of CARE International in Vietnam has officially been released, marking significant achievements and outlining the organization’s strategic direction over the past year. We invite you to read this report to gain a deeper understanding of CARE’s work in journeying with ethnic minority communities and female garment workers to restore livelihoods post-COVID-19, enhance the value of coffee beans, amplify women’s voices by promoting their products in the market, or how we’ve influenced gender norms through social media…

CARE’s vision is a world of hope, inclusion, and social justice, where poverty has been overcome, and all people live in dignity and security. We put women and girls in the center because we know that we
cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities.

The CARE International in Vietnam (CVN) Strategy sets the organization’s direction for 2021-2025, in which CVN will work with communities and partners to achieve gender equality and social
justice. It also sets out how CVN will align its efforts with the CARE International 2030 Agenda and relevant policies and programs of the Government of Vietnam.

Today, CVN’s primary focus is on ensuring long-term positive change for marginalized groups, especially ethnic minority women in remote mountainous areas and marginalized women in urban areas, by
tackling the underlying causes of poverty, vulnerability, and social injustice.

Our two programs, Urban and Rural, focus on: women’s economic empowerment; economic resilience and recovery; women’s voice, leadership, and representation; addressing unpaid care work; ending
gender-based violence, and resilience building. Besides, we are also mandated to deliver humanitarian and emergency assistance in times of crisis.

CVN facilitates partnerships with community-based groups, local and international non-government organizations (NGOs), government actors, private sector partners, and academia. We also work with
government authorities to ensure policies meet the needs of marginalized groups and are effectively implemented in practice.

CARE’s programs in Vietnam sit within a broader regional and global context, both in terms of the development context and CARE’s organizational evolution.
